Ignite your story - Level One: The 7 essential elements to story
This 12 session online class is centered on characters and the essential functions they serve in a story—functions you MUST have to order to have a complete and strong story. We will track the hidden power structures in story and how they shifts over the course of the story. This is the foundation to becoming a more empowered writer.
This class is offered live on zoom. Participants are encouraged to be active on the Ignite Story Lab Facebook group where we discuss story analysis, answer questions, and hold monthly events.

Ignite your story - level two: connecting to the predictable emotional response of your audience
This 12 session online class continues to deepen understanding of the character functions, as well as introduces a whole new way to analyze genre. By understanding the predictable emotional responses audiences have to different kinds of stories, participants will be better able to successfully reach their intended audience in a way that meets their goals.

Ignite your story - Level Three - mapping out the deeper patterns
This 12 session online class looks at plot patterns in a new way and breaks story down into its movements, all of which can be analyzed separately to better understand the whole. The participants will apply the concepts in the analysis of increasingly complex stories as well as work live with authors, playwrights, and/or screenwriters in the coaching of their stories. By the end of this course, the participants will be able to see the levels of story on an even deeper level, giving them more tools to problem solve and refine their stories.
