There are two levels of Story Code™ coaching.
Full Analysis Coaching: Your story/script/text will be read and analyzed by Story Code™-licensed analysts culminating in an interactive coaching session.
Story Development Coaching: You will meet with a Story Code™ analyst to discuss characters, story structure, or beginning ideas. No text has been read, nor analysis performed before the session.
Full Analysis Coaching
How is a Story Code™ Analysis different from other coaching for writers?
Two Story Code™-licensed analysts will work on your text. Together they read and analyze your work. The Story Code™ is based on 40+ years of research and tracks character and power-linked patterns in story. To learn more about the Story Code™ System, visit the Story Code™ System page.
Your story and your goals are important to us. We listen. We want to know what kind of story you want to write, your target audience, and how you want that audience to feel at the end of your story.
You will receive an in-depth 2 hour coaching session with your Story Code™ team. We will address your goals through the underlying power structures of your story and discuss with you specific and inspiring choices to strengthen your story. You will receive all suggestions in writing at the end. Our coaching sessions are energizing conversations that will help you see story in new ways.
What can I expect from a Full Analysis Coaching?
You will submit your book manuscript, screenplay, or other text. The team will work on your project for about two weeks—unless a rush job is needed. Then we will meet for the coaching session. Please call us to discuss the scope of your project. Pricing is based on the length of the text.
After a rewrite, if desired, a discounted second round of analysis can be performed.
Story Development Coaching
What can I expect from a story development coaching session?
Story development coaching is meeting with a Story Code™ analyst for a prescribed amount of time. The analyst has not pre-read or analyzed any of your material. You have the given time to talk about your story, have the analyst read an outline or character summary, and/or ask for advice. The analyst will ask you questions about your characters and other story elements along with your goals for the story. The session will give you some direction on your next steps in developing your story. Analysts are not there to accept or reject your work. They are there to champion your work and to help you meet your goals, while giving you new insights into how story works.
Should I choose a story development or full analysis coaching?
Development coaching is perfect for anyone who needs help with a small project, only has a few questions, or is in a pre-writing development stage. It’s also good for someone who isn’t ready to commit to full-scale analysis coaching. It’s a more affordable place to get to know what the Story Code™ can do for you.
